Hilawe is established in Nov. 2008 with a vision to see destitute, under privileged and the poorest of the poor segment of the Ethiopian community to have greatest participation and meaningful involvement in the socioeconomic development of the country. Its Mission is also is to provide holistic support for orphan and vulnerable children (OVC) and economically empower the under privileged families and prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Hilawe Foundation, one of the Non Governmental Organizations operating in Ethiopia, realized that the problem of Orphan and Vulnerable Children is immense. Supporting Orphan and Vulnerable Children is therefore acknowledged by Hilawe Foundation as a major contributing factor in eradicating poverty from Ethiopia. To strengthen more its contribution in alleviation of poverty, Hilawe Foundation has decided to operate in Addis Ababa.

Mission of the Foundation

The mission of the foundation are to:
1) Provide all rounded support to orphan and vulnerable children;
2) Participate in the HIV/AIDS prevention and control effort; and
3) Empower underprivileged families through Income Generating Activities.
