Gole Bhnsa Mekane Hiwot Abun Teklehaymanot Andnet Gedam
Gole Bhnsa Mekane Hiwot Abune Teklehaymanot Andnet Gedam is one of the oldest and most revered Orthodox Tewahdo monasteries, located in the Bale Goba area of the Oromia Region, Ethiopia. This sacred site is home to over 250 monks and more than 45 Dekemezamur (novice monks), who have dedicated their lives to spiritual service and monastic tradition.
Bale Goba, situated in the Batu highlands, is known for its cold climate and extended rainy seasons. These harsh weather conditions, combined with the advanced age of many of the monks, have created significant challenges for daily living and sustainability.
To address these challenges, the monastery has initiated a development plan that includes:
- Constructing proper shelters to protect the monks from the cold and rain.
- Launching a farming project to ensure food security and long-term self-sufficiency.
To bring this vision to life and prevent hardship among the monastic community, we are organizing a fundraising program on July 1. The funds raised will go directly toward building infrastructure and supporting agricultural development.
We kindly request your support through our designated Wegenfund fundraising platform. Your contribution will help preserve this historic spiritual center and improve the lives of those who serve within it.
God Bless you
