Urgent Call for Emergency Fundraising – Fire Disaster in Dallol Woreda, Afar Region
Brief Situation Report:
On July 17, 2025 (Hamle 10, 2017 EC), a devastating fire broke out in Badaa-Admuruug Kebele, Dallol Woreda of the Afar Region, destroying over 1,805 structures, including:
600 business shops,
950 food houses/restaurants,
255 residential homes completely burned down.
According to Mr. Usman Ahmed, Head of the Dallol Woreda Communication Office, the cause of the fire is still unknown. Additionally:
Over 20 livestock perished in the fire. Loop
Thankfully, no human fatalities were reported, but 2 individuals suffered minor injuries.
Hundreds of families have lost everything and are in urgent need of support.
Public Appeal for Urgent Aid:
AICDO (Abdissa Integrated Community Development Organization) is calling on individuals, communities, the diaspora, humanitarian partners, and media outlets to support emergency fundraising efforts to aid the victims of this tragic disaster.
