Charity or non-profit organisation:- any charity or NGO that is registered with The Authority for Civil Society Organisations (ACSO), AND can provide its Registration License and related documentation.

Religious Institutions:- religious organisations that are not required to register with ACSO, are also allowed to register, provided that they can provide the necessary documentation from the institution lead.

Individual:- any person with medical challenges and conditions ,which are supported by medical institutions and professionals.

Businesses:- any business (of any type) legally registered in Ethiopia, and can produce its Business License and TIN certificate.

The major requirements are:- Registration details, including a valid registration certificate from The Authority for Civil Society Organisation (ACSO). Registered Memorandum of Association/Governing Rules of the Donee or NGO Bank details for payout

If all required documents are submitted, we aim to approve it in 1 working day. If we need further information, it may take a bit longer.

Wegenfund does not require any monthly subscription fee or any other upfront fees. We have a simple flat fee per transaction to cover administrative and transaction costs.

Wegenfund will transfer funds raised by all Causes belonging to a Charity or all Projects belonging to a Business to the specific bank you provided. Please, note that we require the bank account to be in in the name of your Charity/Business.

Wegenfund restricts personal fundraising only for medical conditions, which need to be verified by medical institutions and professionals. To register in the Wegenfund platform, you are required to submit a letter of recommendation from the medical institution.

You will be paid through a bank account. The name registered on the campaign and the bank account should be identical.

Yes, Wegenfund now supports crowdfunding for Businesses. If you have a Business License and other related documents, then yes, you can. You Business registration can be any type that is acceptable within Ethiopia (e.g. Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, PLC, ...)

Once your Cause is completed, Wegenfund will push the money to the specific bank account you provide us. The bank account should be in the same name as it was campained.

No documents required to raise Causes. You need to register with your details and select a registered charity from the list.

One of the great features of Wegenfund is that you do NOT need to do anything. The funds will be transfered to the Beneficiary automatically. And, feel free to check with them.

Your fundraiser will remain live until the main campaign target date.

Yes, you can update your campaign description. However, you cannot change your charity name.

Per transaction, you can donate/contribute a minimum of 5.00 in any currency and a maximum of either ETB10,000.00 or 2,000.00 in one of the available foreign currencies.

The donation platform can accept from anywhere in the world with Visa Card and Mastercard.

As soon as you make a contribution or donation, we automatically send a receipt to the email you've given us confirming details of the payment and that of the Beneficiary.
