Proposal for National Peace and Security Building Fundraising Program.
*Introduction*
The National Peace and Security Building Fundraising Program aims to address critical peace and security issues within the Oromo community in Ethiopia. Recognizing the pivotal role of peace and security in fostering development, education, trade, and overall societal well-being, this initiative is designed to empower the community through skills-based training and awareness programs. Abdissa Integrated Community Development Organization (AICDO) collaborates with the Oromia Security Bureau to spearhead this effort, fostering cooperation and community engagement to ensure peace and security in the Oromia Region.
*Objectives*
1. Peace and Security Training: Provide skills-based training and awareness programs focused on addressing security challenges within the Oromia Region.
2. Empowerment of Youth: Engage and empower the youth in North Shawaa, West Shawaa, East Shawaa, South West Shawaa, East Wallaga, West Wallaga, Horroo Guduruu, Qeellama Wallagaa through targeted training sessions.
3. Community Building and Engagement: Foster community-level initiatives to organize, create awareness, and maintain peace and security within their own areas.
4. Partnership and Support: Seek support from local authorities and city administration to aid and cooperate in developing peace-seeking communities.
Program Implementation
1. Training and Awareness Program: Conduct a month-long training initiative, including ten days of intensive training for youth from specified districts. This comprehensive program will focus on equipping participants with skills necessary for conflict resolution, community engagement, and peace-building activities.
2. Budget Requirements: A budget totaling US$500,000 is estimated for executing the awareness-raising training. This budget will cover training materials, instructor fees, logistical expenses, and participant support.
3. Participant Reach: Approximately 6000 individuals, including youth and stakeholders, will benefit from this initiative, contributing to a network of peace-focused individuals and groups across the region.
4. Post-Training Engagement: After the completion of training, emphasis will be placed on community-building efforts, encouraging participants to take leadership roles within their districts, fostering peace and security at the grassroots level.
